Maria Mazo, already an award winner at the Van Cliburn (USA), Honens (Canada) and Busoni (Italy) International Piano Competitions, is the Winner of the 2013 International Beethoven Piano Competition Vienna (playing with the Camerata Salzburg conducted by Louis Langrée). She also recently achieved great praise of audience and critics at the 2014 Arthur Rubinstein Piano Master Competition in Tel-Aviv where she was awarded the Audience Prize after performing with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Asher Fisch.
Although dominating a broad repertoire ranging from Bach to nowadays, Maria Mazo is since young age fascinated by Beethoven's music. It has been precisely her interpretations of some of these masterpieces what first definitely established Maria Mazo in the international concert scene. Her deep connection to this music led her first to win the Beethoven Piano Competition in Mannheim, Germany, in 2004. One year later she revolutionized the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and made herself a reputation with a highly acclaimed performance of Beethoven´s Hammerklavier-Sonata. It was there that she was also selected as one of the main characters for the documentary In the Heart of Music, directed by Andy Sommer. In this film the pianist of the legendary Beaux Arts Trio and jury member Menahem Pressler praised Maria Mazo's performance of said sonata, emphasizing his admiration “for someone that young being capable of playing Beethoven on such a high level, that we have not heard from anyone”. The circle came to a close with her winning the First Prize at the Beethoven Competition in Vienna which is one of the oldest, most traditional and prestigious music competitions in the world and allows exclusively the performance of Beethoven's works. This definitely establishes Maria as one of the greatest ambassadors of the music of the universal genius.
Maria Mazo began playing the piano at age five. She made her orchestra debut at age nine with Mozart’s Concerto Nr.12. In 2014-2015 Maria Mazo is performing in Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Israel, Japan, China and Australia. She is also present in the social networks with a Facebook page that has thousands of fans from around the globe, and a Youtube channel that has received over 200.000 views.

Maria Mazo, Gewinnerin des Internationalen Beethoven Klavierwettbewerbs 2013 in Wien, wurde bereits mit Preisen bei den renommierten Klavierwettbewerben Honens (Kanada), Busoni (Italien) und Van Cliburn (USA) ausgezeichnet. 2014 gewann sie zudem den Audience Favorite Prize beim Arthur Rubinstein Piano Master Competition in Tel-Aviv, Israel, wo sie mit dem Israel Philharmonic Orchestra unter der Leitung von Asher Fisch auftrat.
Mazo beherrscht ein großes Repertoire von Bach bis zu zeitgenössischen Komponisten – ihre große Faszination gehört aber schon seit jungen Jahren Ludwig van Beethoven. Ihre Interpretationen einiger seiner Meisterwerke haben Maria Mazo auch international etabliert.

Además ha sido también galardonada con distintos premios en los grandes concursos internacionales Van Cliburn (EE.UU.), Honens (Canadá) y Busoni (Italia).
Aunque dominadora de un amplio repertorio que abarca desde Bach hasta nuestros días, María Mazo se sintió fascinada e influida desde temprana edad por la música de Beethoven. Han sido precisamente sus interpretaciones de estas grandes obras las que en primer lugar empujaron definitivamente a Maria Mazo al escenario solístico internacional. Su íntima conexión con esta música la llevó, en primer lugar, a ganar el Concurso de Piano de Beethoven de Mannheim (Alemania), en 2004. Un año más tarde revolucionó el Concurso Internacional de Piano Van Cliburn con una sorprendente y aclamada interpretación de la Sonata Hammerklavier. Fue allí donde también se la eligió como a uno de los personajes del documental En el Corazón de la Música, dirigido por Andy Sommer. Nacida en Moscú pero de origen sefardí y nacionalidad Alemana, compenzó a tocar el piano a la edad de cinco años. Destacando su talento desde el principio, hizo su debut orquestal a la edad de nueve años con el Concierto K. 414 de Mozart. De niña fue alumna de los profesores del Conservatorio Tchaikovsky de Moscú mientras acudía todavía a la escuela, y posteriormente realizaría sus estudios superiores en Alemania. María Mazo ha actuado recientemente como solista en Austria, Alemania, Italia, España, Rusia, Israel y China, y en 2015 hará sus primeras apariciones en Japón y Australia.
